Bethany Community Response Team named 2012 “Citizen of the Year”

The Bethany Democratic Town Committee is proud to announce that the Bethany Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is the 2012 Citizen of the Year recipient. Read the full announcement here.

The volunteer members of CERT are Carlos Alvarez, Liz Appel, Jeanne DelVecchio, Bill Difrancesco, Mary Ehrler, Cindy Howard, Clark Hurlburt, Mike Katzmark, Bruce Loomis, Dave Mortensen, Sue Mortensen, Carol Paugas, Nicole Philbert, Gary Ross, Don Shea, Kris Sullivan, Paul Tomasco, Sue Tomasco and Rod White. These volunteers are dedicated to provide both public service and emergency deployment when they are most needed.

Bethany CERT will be honored at the all you can eat Spaghetti Supper on March 24, 2012 where the Citizen of the Year award will be presented. This event at Bethany Town Hall starts at 6:00 p.m. Adults are $12.00; Seniors $8.00; Children $6.00. Tickets can be purchased at the door or by calling 393-0350. Please come help celebrate this special occasion. All are welcome!

The Bethany Democratic Town Committee will meet the first Wednesday of February at 8:00 PM in the Selectmen’s Conference Room at Bethany Town Hall. US Senate Candidate William Tong will drop by to speak with the Committee, and we will also receive an update from our US Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro’s campaign on current goings-on in Congress. All Democrats are welcome to attend.
