Bethany Awarded Significant Grant; Governor Visits Site of Future Community Center

This month, Governor Malloy announced the second round of funding under the state’s grant program to assist with infrastructure improvement projects in Connecticut’s small towns.  Bethany is one of six Connecticut towns to be awarded a grant this month under the state’s Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP.) $500,000 has been awarded to convert the old Bethany airport hangar into a recreation building  and emergency shelter.

On Thursday, April 16, 2015, First Selectwoman Derrylyn Gorski and members of the Airport Committee hosted Governor Malloy, State Sen. Joe Crisco, other officials, and friends at the site to view the progress being made.  See a video of the Governor’s visit here.  Pictures of the event will be posted soon!
